Things to eat during pregnancy

Pregnancy is not the process but a journey of nine months in which women have to go through a lot of phases and processes. Many of them get weaker because their foods’ energy pass to the growing fetus. Therefore, they are advised to eat more but eating more is not enough. They have to eat healthy food and salad in Dubai. Dairy foods: Your inborn baby or going-to-born baby needs lots of calcium and proteins to grow fast. Therefore, women are advised to add yoghurt, milk and cheese in their diets to nourish their bodies and the bodies of the fetus. The women should take probiotic supplements to promote the growth and health of the fetus. 

Legumes: Many of the women have issues in the neural tube because they have a deficiency of folate. Therefore, doctors advise pregnant ladies to add legumes in their foods and diet. Lentils, chickpeas, soybeans and beans are rich in folate, iron, calcium, proteins and fibres. 

Sweet potatoes: Sweet potatoes are must for pregnant ladies to have in snacks every day because they are rich in beta-carotene. Beta-carotene is a plant-based compound that converts into Vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A plays an important role in cell differentiation and development of the fetus. 

Salmon: Salmon is the best way to get omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin D. Many of the pregnant ladies do not have sufficient omega-3s and vitamin D in their diet that might affect the development of the fetus. Therefore, have fish two times a week and fulfil the requirement of nutrients.

Eggs: Eggs do not increase bad cholesterol in your body. They are beneficial for your health. The food is rich in proteins, calcium, micro-nutrients that you and your fetus need. Eggs are rich in choline, a compound that is essential for brain development. 

Green leafy vegetables: Yeah we all hate spinach and broccoli but they can give you lots of Vitamin C, K and A, calcium, iron, potassium and folate. Greens reduce constipation and keep you healthy in all trimesters. Therefore, add them in your curries, salad and rice to make the meal nutritious and healthy. 

Berries: Berries are must for pregnant women. The fruit is low in calories but has fibres, antioxidants and Vitamin C that reduce oxidative stress, strengthen bones and keep skin healthy. That’s why have two handfuls berries every day to fulfil your hunger.
